[LAU] solid state drives and audio

I am about to get a new Thinkpad, and I'm wondering if, aside from
price, there's any reason not to get a solid state drive. I was
thinking it would be especially good for Ardour sessions with lots of
small bits of audio. Does anyone have any experience (positive or
negative) with solid state drives and audio on Debian Sid?
