64 Studio 2.1 *is* ancient, I use it all the time here. :)

I replaced JACK with a later version (0.109.2) by compiling and 
installing with './configure --prefix=/usr'. However, IIRC later 
versions of JACK and FFADO won't compile on this system due to other 
more recent dependencies. YMMV, caveat emptor, good luck, etc.
