Great! OSC [1] looks interesting, please report back.
I think I will play a little with it also, but for a control
application.

I can contribute by documenting, I'll put it in "soundcard" in [2].
Which amplifiers would you recommend to choose from ?

Gumstix [3] seems to be a little expensive. If you want a cheep
readymade part to start hacking with, you can use AT32NGW100 [4].
It is delivered with linux installed.
