I have a maudio keyboard. On this xubuntu (debian) machine, all I had to do was apt-get install midisport-firmware and plug it in. no need for any fxload command. (seems to be automated scince any time) But yes - you likely need the snd-usb-audio module (drivers). -- E.R.
