[LAU] Downsampling via .asoundrc

[Ismael Valladolid Torres]

If I define my slave device in .asoundrc with rate 8000, shouldn't I
hear audio output by any ALSA application
downsampled to that rate? Here that's not the case and audio seems to
be heard with whichever frequency the app is using.
