Ok, so I've recut _everything_ this time in ardour :) I now got proper 
fades on everything I've also done some fine per sample filtering and 
got rid of a fair bit of noise. I also have an ardour session with all 
500 samples on 30 different tracks so now I can color them as I wish 
with little effort :).

Here's what it sounds like now, if you crank the volume you should 
really hear the difference.
