It has legitimate uses too. When I did a recording last year, I had a
cello recording that was a bit flat, so we used autotune on it to
bring it in line with the rest of the instruments. Unfortunately we
were short on budget and time, so re-recording it was out of the
question, but it didn't ruin the sound of the cello in any way, so we
were happy in the end.
