Oops, sorry I think you need to address the client name, not the port 
name, so in your case something like aplaymidi -p "Ensoniq AudioPCI":0 
But then aplaymidi needs to support that and according to its man page 
it does. So you can even use just aplaymidi -p Ensoniq
