I can't try with a hub, I don't have any.

cat /boot/config-2.6.31-11-rt | grep CONFIG_USB_EHCI_TT_NEWSCHED
CONFIG_USB_EHCI_TT_NEWSCHED=y

cat /boot/config-2.6.32-24-generic | grep CONFIG_USB_EHCI_TT_NEWSCHED
CONFIG_USB_EHCI_TT_NEWSCHED=y

So CONFIG_USB_EHCI_TT_NEWSCHED is enabled.
