Sorry. I picked an instrument and a system effect, then used the File >
Save State option. Then I closed Yoshimi and clicked Discard on the
option to Save or Discard state. Then I looked in my home folder (with
view hidden files on) and found no .yoshimi folder whatever.

Then I tried starting yoshimi with the "-S" option, and it strategically
retreated.

Then I started it again, picked instrument and effect. Closed Yoshimi
and had it save state - and there was the .yoshimi folder!

So I tried starting Yoshimi from command line with the -S parameter, and
it strategically retreats. Because now there's no
~/.yoshimi/yoshimi.state or even a folder to contain it.

Do newer versions of Yoshimi handle this better, such as provide a menu
option of loading settings?
