no. ALSA drivers have taken care of the "firmware" loading themselves
for some time. hdsploader is only needed to reload the "firmware" if
that is necessary for some reason, which is should not be. you need to
look in /var/messages/ or the output of dmesg for info on why the
driver failed to load it.
