[LAU] Cracks while using Audiophile 2496

RAM: 4Gb
CPU: Core i5 2,80 GHz (quad core)
* jack:
- Real-Time checked (however I run a vanilla kernel; the "RT" light on
qjacktl is on)
- rtprio 70 (ulimit -r = 90)
- frames/period = 256
- sample rate = 44100
- periods/buffer = 2

I played with these last three params with no notable effects, so I
don't think latency is the problem. The card is supposed to support
both 48000 and 44100 Hz sample rate, these are the two value I tried.
