I had actually heard this first  in a translation in Italian (similar to 
[1]).

The overall blend of lyrics, the way they are spoken and the musical 
setting (looping harmony, blended timbres, final 'plucked-strings' 
phrase) remind me quite a bit of Mike Oldfield music.
Nicely done I must say.
IMHO you could experiment with leaving longer pauses between phrases. 
with some further 'foreground movements' in the music.

The words are from a poem by Max Ehrmann [2]... I guess it is pretty 
well known in English-speaking contexts but not as much elsewhere 
(especially in it's original form)?
