PPS: Some weeks ago I read Horrowitz/ Hill "The Art Of Electronic" regarding to stuff like twisted-pair-cables. I might be mistaken, but I don't think that twisted-pair-cables and a 300$-box could cause voodoo. USB voltage over a distance of 100m?
