The last time I filed an official bug report on Debian, the report was 
closed with the message: "Upgrade and see if that fixes it." IOW, we're 
not interested in fixing it, we're not going to fix it, we're not even 
going to figure if we've unintentionally fixed it.

I get better response from bug reports on particular apps.
