shudder. group delay tricks to cram more energy into a cd. that's so 
90's, guys.
at one point, this guy suggests mastering from an mp3 because it comes 
with randomized phase, making it louder. sigh.

if that's mastering, then driving old ladies across the street at 
gunpoint is proper boy scout behaviour.
