I'm pretty sure he means what I talked about a bit on ardour irc. 
Basically, selected track gets midi input-enabled. So instead of having 
to enable/disable every time you change tracks (which, if midi tracks, 
are usually different software or outboard instruments), you instead can 
simply select a track it will automatically be midi input enabled (and 
turning off all other tracks).

It should obviously be a setting, but it would greatly help the midi 
workflow.
