The latest SSD drives will do everything you need when it comes to
performance. The only issue is data integrity over the long term. You
should get an external drive if you want to archive your work and make
regular backups. You can get an external USB 1 TB drive for less than E50
these days.

Please don't start on time machine and other (cr)apple software here
though.  Real men use rsync and cron ;-)
