Having the option is nice yes. A 13 inch screen on a laptop is a good 
example.

On a desktop with two or more monitors, The ability to detach windows 
makes for a nicer quicker workflow. Monitors are cheap any more. If I am 
paying $90 in Canada, they must be $65ish US.
