... and the popular card for SDR use was the Delta 44, which does
exactly that. In 96 kHz mode it really does have 96 kHz input
bandwidth:

In addition, having 4 inputs and 4 outputs means you can connect your
microphone and headphones at the same time -- which is obviously useful
for radio purposes!
