I made the MIDI file by hand one note at a time, reading from the score. 
Yes, the tempo and expressive indications in the original are quite 
clear, there's supposed to be a fair amount of "Romantic" styled rubato 
after the beginning. Btw, I'm recalling this from memory, I no longer 
have the score. The file was created many years ago, I used it here to 
test performance of the Pianoteq VST in Bitwig.

IIRC the beginning is supposed to be a bit stiff, a strong contrast with 
the succeeding "looser" parts.

Btw, Granados is perhaps better known to classical guitarists than 
pianists. His Danzas Espanolas #5 and #10 are staples in the repertoire, 
both having been transcribed from the piano scores. Given that composers 
such as Granados, Albeniz, and de Falla were recreating/recasting 
guitar-based musics (flamenco especially) on orchestral instruments, it 
was inevitable that transcriptions would appear. Albeniz is said to have 
preferred the guitar versions to his piano originals, and indeed many of 
them do sound much better on the guitar.
