How does the OP monitor the MIDI messages? Assumed the OP is using ALSA
MIDI to monitor the MIDI messages, aren't the messages then already
worked off? IOW isn't active sensing removed, even if the keyboard
should sent it and isn't running status converted to messages that
always provide the status byte?
