Very good point.

Soundcloud is:

"Any and all audio, text, photos, pictures, graphics, comments, and
other content, data or information that you upload, store, transmit,
submit, exchange or make available to or via the Platform (hereinafter
"Your Content") is generated, owned and controlled solely by you, and
not by SoundCloud."

The usefulness of clyp.it would then be to put short snippets.  As it
is possible to see, many people who actually have accounts on clyp.it
put short clips there while having a link to their Soundcloud account
for more.  For this purpose it is another way to expose (snippets
of) music.  If people like the style, they click on the Soundcloud link.

Others put interviews, talks, etc...
