Pd-extended has been unmaintained for 4 years.
it is not struggling any more, it is simply DEAD.

if you want the Pd-extended experience, you should check out purr-data.
or you could try to write patches that make their dependencies explicit.
or you could buy a time-capsule a revive the olde days.

personally i would suggest to take the 2nd option.
