Well, in response to both 32-bit and multicore topics...my wife's old netbook (don't recall exactly how old, but at least 7 years old) came with a 64-bit, dual-core processor. While its hardware is limited to 2GB RAM, it is running 64-bit Ubuntu.

Even the processor called a "Pentium" in a cheap little-use desktop I have is 64-bit 2 cores.

Even the old, cheap entry-level tablet I'm using has a 64-bit 4-core chip in it. (Not to ignore the 64 GPU cores the Tegra chip also includes.)

Single core CPUs went away a long time ago.

Just to put it in perspective.
