Well, it's a round number.  A quarter $bn per modern piece of silver, to
paint with a dramatic brush.  But it's not like the FSF ever recommended
using GitHub.  Part of what using closed source for infrastructure
startups is about is to have something attracting high takeover bids
(paying out any venture capitalists and founders), and Microsoft's
business ethics and practices leave it with some of the highest sums to
offer.
