Thanks Sam, that seems like a possible solution for now although I
haven't tried it yet.

Sadly, searching for
kernel inurl:lists.linuxaudio.org/archives/linux-audio-user/
on startpage.com or google.com/ncr
did not produce any results.
I would be nice to have a searchable web archive.
