Or you could just fire up Ardour yourself with CPU sleep states 
disabled. Doing so doesn't affect CPU frequency scaling when the scaling 
governor has been set to ondemand. Still wondering how these two 
mechanisms, power management and CPU sleep states, relate to each other.
