It should. Lilypond is extremely good in the details. Take a look at
one of the PDFs on
http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.1/examples.html and try
zooming in as far as you can on e.g. a flat sign or slur. (They must
have spent weeks on that slur code.)
Output from Sibelius would probably stand up to that kind of close
inspection, but that from Finale or Encore wouldn't. In fact Han-Wen
(of Lilypond) was suggesting to me that it might be better to have a
printout of some fine detail blown up huge rather than a big sheet of
music. He has a point.
The the very least we should have copies of the postscript on our laptops.
