Hi Thorsten,
IMHO this one is much better. FWIW, personally I still prefer the
"roughness" of the original hand-drawing better.
You're not alone with that, as I learned just today :)
Is there a way to capture
the roughness of the original drawing in an SVG?
Hardly. I would rather create a high resolution bitmap, then.
I don't think it's the right thing for this logo, though.
What would be the message of this roughness?
I see this to personify the artistic/creative/human element of our
consortium. IMHO Linuxaudio.org's ultimate mission is fostering Linux as the
platform of choice for artists as well as the art itself (whether that art
is manifested in generating of tools, software, hardware, or simply aural
and/or multimedia art). Geometric purity (again IMHO) suggests to me an
institution that has more to do with engineering than art (obviously we have
this element in our consortium as well, but I personally see its
manifestation under the auspices of the aforementioned creative/human/art
concept).
Obviously all of the aforementioned is IMHO :-). Nonetheless, I sincerely
hope it helps clarify my stance!
Best wishes,
Ico
Cheers,
Thorsten
