real men use ambisonics ;)
for the unwashed masses, they pre-render to 5.1.
ardour can do the former today, and ambdec will take care of the latter.
i'd be willing to join the effort - if somebody else produces the
content itself, i can help with mastering to surround. it would be 5.0,
though. imnsho, the .1 is one of the stupidest ideas ever...
