Hi,
The list has been a bit quiet recently so I thought it might be nice for those
interested to get a status update from a few of the more active companies. I
hope this email will spur others to send in some info on the movements in our
little niche market.
Boost Hardware Ltd.
Some of you may remember that I started a company called Boost Hardware which
was attempting to provide portable Linux Audio Machines. I sold one item and
haven't had much interest since then. The company is now in rest mode while
waiting for an opportunity to present itself.
DJCJ.
DJCJ was originally a concept that has become a promotion company. We are now
based in Bangkok, Thailand where there is a very active international
community
of electronic musicians. We have started organising a regular event focused on
Dub and Dancehall. This event will serve as a marketing opportunity and
testing
ground for music I am producing and will also allow me to promote Linux
Audio as
a platform. In the next year we will expand our tour schedule into Singapore,
Shanghai, Seoul, Taiwan. My goal is to be able to provide a tour circut for
Linux Audio producers once DJCJ is established in the region.
S-N-E.
I have started up a new company called S-N-E (Simple & Effective) which is a
website design company specialising in online shopping websites using open
source software. It is looking good that we will be the design company
for a medium sized music label based in England, a retail business in
Hawaii, and a
Japanese/Thai clothing manufacturer.
I look forward to your comments and other status reports.
