The stable version of FluidSynth 2 has been released! This release
brings major new features as well as some changes to the API. Thanks
to all contributors involved!

Note that the legacy 1.1.x API is now available at

FluidSynth is a real-time software synthesizer based on the
SoundFont(tm) 2 specifications. It can read MIDI events from the MIDI
input device and render them to the audio device. It can also play
MIDI files.
