i'm not trying to add fuel to the fire or anything, but if this is the case, and the gpl protects against the sort of thing they are worried about anyway, why go through all the hassle of adding the clause that has obviously (whether deserved or not) caused so much controversy? wouldn't it be better to simply have a faq item stating that the gpl prohibits this behaviour anyway?
i hope this comes across right without upsetting anyone, as it is obviously a delicate topic, and i am just trying to understand it better myself, not cause more issues :)
