Yeah, I mean qwerty keyboard, I apologize for not making it clear. I have an ASUS laptop.
All qwerty keyboard grabbing software I tried on Linux has this behaviour for me - jack keyboard,
lmms, VK.

Zyn Virtual Keyboard however (just checked) works as intended. JACK Keyboard however is not.

It would be helpful if you'd tell us which hard and software you're
using. I've never heard of such a problem.
