As otherwise noted Unity does have a linux build, I've used it to make a demostration game at work (see https://forum.unity.com/threads/unity-on-linux-release-notes-and-known-issues.350256/ ). Personally though I'd rather see more work be put toward the open source Godot engine (see https://godotengine.org/ or #godotengine on freenode).
