I have now a setup with qsynth and muse
with jack settings:
path: /usr/bin/jackd -S
priority: 70
period/frame: 256
sample rate: 48000
latency is now: 10.7 ms
It is not smooth unfortunately

Yes, and if you set the realtime option ame sure to enter a value for
the JACK's priority also. Default is 10 which is a bit low on a scale
of 100. Also make sure you have set up JACK to use realtime priorities.
