I have been trying to create a test CD to use for tuning a PA system in a
large auditorium, and I need a pink noise generator and a band pass filter to
create "test tones" at each one of the frequencies on the eq. I am
running
DeMuDi, and using ardour as a recorder. I have a myriad of LADSPA plugins
including a pink noise generator, but I cannot find a simple bandpass filter
that allows me to dial in the precise frequency and the bandwidth. I have
tried the TAP plugs, the CMT plugs, and the SWH plugs, and as far as I can
tell none have exactly what I need. If anyone can help me or knows where to
find what I am looking for, that would be great.

AKG 240m are fairly standard in studios. Very good quality.

Just wanted to tell that our incoming directories are automatically
unreadable. The mellotron, rhodes and the drumkit are now at

LAU and LAD people seem to meet at conferences. How about organizing
an instrument and sound effect recording session in place? Perhaps
one could find a recording studio there?

I guess I'm spoiled... I try to do this with everything. {Unfortunately, it doesn't work with everything} It is a very nice bit of functionality.

You mean for presets? I'm not quite sure what you mean.

I like Blender's {Combustion's, Jahshaka's} interface. It's pleasant to look at and hides a huge amount of functionality in a very small space. I like numbers as well... they give you actual information rather than an arbitrary relative placement on a slider or an arbitrary 1 through 1o. Knobs are just a pain in general}
I like the "outline view" settings in Max as well. {Or emacs's "customize" view... Stuff you use a lot is on top... other stuff is easy to get to. Short definitions and examples are right there for you as you navigate through stuff and you have easy access to several different searches and help formats}

Greetings:
A while ago I was mucking around with fonts to work with Finale under
WINE. I don't know what I did, but now when I run a VST instrument the
fonts have been replaced by little empty squares. If anyone can help
I'll provide the details and images to clarify what's happening. I'm
hoping it's an easy fix...
Best,
dp
Hi all,
a few weeks ago I posted this message to the Agnula mailing list:
<http://lurker.agnula.org:80/message/20040704.234019.574495d2.html>
with a diagram <http://lurker.agnula.org:80/attach/4%
4020040704.234019.574495d2.attach> of a setup I'd like to accomplish in Linux
(using Demudi)
The only thing missing is a virtual mixing desk, where all outputs of all
Jackified softsynths are connected to. The mixing desk should provide (at
minimum) the same functions as the mixing desk in Cubase VST (screenshot:
<http://www.doepfer.de/controller/cubaseVST5_absctrl_tutorial/Images/VST 5
ChannelMixer1.jpg>).
Each strip should provide send/insert LADSPA effects and an EQ.
It should be possible to save all mixer settings (total recall) preferably via
LASH
My question: does this kind of virtual mixing desk exists in Linux? If not,
how do you mix your audio streams (softsynth outputs)?
Thanks in advance,
Stanley Jaddoe
I've applied the realtime-lsm 0.1.1 patch but I stll get this. I'm
pretty sure I've followed the instructions properly.
$ jackstart -R -v -d alsa -d hw:0
jackstart: cannot get realtime capabilities, current capabilities are:
=ep cap_setpcap-e
probably running under a kernel with capabilities disabled,
a suitable kernel would have printed something like "=eip"
I've applied it to a 2.6.7 and 2.6.8.r1 kernel but I should think that
makes little difference. I'm getting really tired of chasing the 2.6
kernels to make them work as well as my 2.4.22. I gave up trying 6
months ago and it looks like nothing has improved. <sigh>
