Ok, I got it to build (I was missing gcc-c++). I ran the different test programs and I couldn't find the one that reports about the volume. test-freebob gives this results, but I don't know if there is any volume information there:

$ ./test-freebob discover
verbose level = 0
Using freebob library version: libfreebob 1.0.3

  port = 0, devices_on_bus = 1
  get info for device = 0, node = 0
Direction:              0 (capture)

In this thread: http://linuxaudio.org/pipermail/linux-audio-user/2006-November/039911.html I read about a test-volume program but I couldn't find it in the latest source.

Thanks for any help1

Hector

Hi Daniel,

Thank you for your response. I found a thread about that test application and I've been trying to build libfreebob but I had problems with it not finding libpthread. I have Fedora 7 and can't find the devel package of pthread anywhere.

Cheers,

Hector

There is a test application for setting the volumes. But you have to
compile the freebob source yourself, since it is not shipped normally
(after all it is only a test application so far).
