Apologies for this seeming a bit like spamming the list having only just announced 0.50.5
but this release addresses two more issues that caused a lot of discussion on the list just
as the previous release addressed the Jack Session Manager.
Multiple IO channels for CV signalling: the ARP 2600 will now register 4 inputs and outputs
with Jack for control signalling and make them present in the GUI for patching. The inputs
take any signal, the outputs are 2xAC (-1.0..1.0) and 2xDC (0..1.0). The signals can be patched
by the GUI to/from any of the ARP controls. The input and output signals can also have a gain
applied to them which is a fix for some problem that hasn't occured yet. Details are in the
changelog.
NRP support: This was actually still broken after Louigi's report of having had problems with
bristol getting damaged by NRP. It should now be possible to register any of the bristol GUI
devices to an NRP in the same way as CC are registered: <middle mouse button> <move
control>. The library will detect that the first messages are for an NRP and wait for the
DataEntry messages before registering the NRP ID. It is up to the user to make sure that no
applications on the same channel have conflicting NRP, that is way beyond the scope of the
feature. Settings are saved with the memory save operation, one such set of control mappings
per emulator reloaded on restart and registrations can be removed using the same procedure
as above.
The release includes some fixes for the session management as well, amongst other things.
Regards, nick.
