I tend to go with what Robin and Paul say as these two guys are really smart and a lot smarter than me.
Robin makes great points and Paul's 'move on' is awesome!
However, like Robin says things like support from these companies are better than the 50.00.
Patrick has a big heart and maybe its best to give it a try and call it a 'test' or pilot since the dollar amount is so low.
If it ends up being a headache squash it.
BTW if there is anything Linux Audio that needs extra server or attention I have a space to park stuff (for free) just
as a way to pay back to Linux Audio for all the help I received over the years.

Thank you

Sure, I know that there are plenty of people who agree with Robin. I am
wondering how many people feel that there is room for advertising and it
turns out that I am not the only person who thinks there is a place for
it.

You may have missed some of the earlier thread on the Consortium list
where a couple of people did say pretty much exactly what I wrote and a
bit more than that too.

If you had been around here long enough you would pretty much expect that
there was gonna be a lengthy debate on the topic ;-P Also that I have a
certain provocative style when I want to.

IMO it's what makes this list so interesting. So many bright people with
so many points of view who are not afraid to share their opinions with
anyone who cares to read.
