I've recently bought a hp laserjet P2055d and it works perfectly right out of the box.
My previous printer was also a hp laserjet (anno 1996) and I remember setting up a printer
in those days wasn't quite so easy :-)

Hi Ken,

I bought an HP Deskjet 6540 many moons ago, on the advice of a Linux Printers web site. I love this machine. In my teaching it gets used a lot, and no, I don't like buying cartridges, but I haven't bought a new one for a long while, I just get the old ones refilled at a local center.

It's not a cheap printer, but I was advised that cheap printers and Linux don't mix so well.

Best,

dp
