                “lsmod | grep snd_usb_audio” gives nothing

                “lsmod | grep snd” doesn’t list “snd_usb_audio”

                “modprobe snd-usb-audio” gives “FATAL: Module snd_usb_audio not found.”

                no snd-usb-audio, definitely! and I do agree with frank’s opinion, that’s exactly what i intended. i will try to file a bug, however I will experiment now with how other distributions and windows run.
