Yes Atte, I was only talking about how I mostly use it, which is just like a tremolo. But yeah, it has many uses more than the simple tremolo-like duck-to-the-dance-kick.

Depends if the compression is following a fixed pattern (like a four-on-the-floor bass drumm) or not.

Done more subtle, it can be a way of letting things like bass drum cut through the mix.
