How con the kernel be a problem since Alsa includes its own
kernel modules?
I guess the kernel does not restrict the modules in working with the
hardware the way they need to.
And one more question: does anybody have speaker mute feature working
on ANY hardware? I never had it working neither on my laptops nor my
desktops. Maybe it's a missing feature, not a bug?
