However, those real-time settings are all that's needed to get jack
working. That's why I mentioned that pulseaudio _likely_ could be an
issue for users not _familiar_ with Linux audio and Linux desktops.
The default PulseAudio configuration on Ubuntu times out and releases the soundcard after a short period of inactivity. Unless you're trying to start JACK in that short window it's likely not the issue.
