That's not true. SFZ is an open and free specification. I know, I'm working on an implementation of the SFZ 2.0 spec.

That is incorrect. The library libgig is licensed under GPL version 2.

I just checked the libgig sources and could not find any commercial exception.
Now, if it is pure GPL, then there is a free implementation for the
gig format as well !!
