If you are using jack, then meterbridge is what you want.

If you are not using jack, you should consider switching since meterbridge

Rezound works also for that, it have vumeters when you're recording, it's works on non-portable computer, but on my Gericom, rezound goes wrong when i want to rercord sound with it?
The error message is : virtual void COSSSoundRecorder::initialize(Csound*)
                                      error opening OSS device '/dev/dsp'
                                       Resource temporaly unavailable

do you know what's the problem???????
