I guess it's because it just works and has all planned features ;)

Not quite all planned features but the main developers are busy and haven't been able to allocate anytime to additions recently.

There has been some work on a simplified interface for less advanced users and a mac port but neither have been finalised yet. There has also been regular contributions to the backend code that have made it to the dev repo. You can get access to some of these updates in latest cvs.
