I am running it within FL Studio, which nowadays runs very well under WINE.

Before that I used Festige to run plugins and it sort of worked for many of them. But I did not try VB-303 through Festige. I think Festige has been replaced with Carla, I think you can run VSTs from Carla, but I am not entirely sure.

Hi Louigi,

Sometimes I have the impression that there is a fair amount of Windows plugins that can be run in Linux.  But there are many recipes out there, some of them not valid anymore.  Do you run the VB-303 in Linux and if so, how do you do it ?

Cheers.

Hey jonetsu!

On Linux I used seq24 and Nekobee in Carla. I think you can also use QMidiArp, that should be no problem. If you want to run VB-303 in a VST wrapper of sorts, which I understand are available for a strictly Linux environment, then you do not need a sequencer, since VB-303 has an in-built sequencer (just like TB-303 does).

Which tools are used to establish the repetitive events ? I'm
curious. What kind of sequencer ? What is the typical software
wiring ? I could see maybe Seq24. Would be maybe nice to
sync to an arpeggiator also. Then everything goes in Ardour. Do you
think it is possible to use an Ardour MIDI track for the foundation ?
Maybe copy/paste all along.

Cheers.
